MP chairs DISHA meeting at Kulgam

KULGAM, JANUARY 08: Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Nazir Ahmad Laway today chaired a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee under (DISHA) to review progress achieved under different centrally sponsored schemes in the district.

The DDC Kulgam Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani, CPO, ACD, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, PMGSY, CEO and other district officers of various departments attended the meeting.

A detailed power point presentation was presented to brief the Chairman about the physical and financial progress of various centrally sponsored Schemes presently executed by various departments in the district.

A detailed account of the progress achieved, so far under flagship programmes like MGNREGA, SBM, DDUS, IPDR, PMGSY, Pradhan Mantri Ujawal Yojana, NHM, PMAY, SSA, NRLM and other central sponsered schemes were given to chairman by the heads of concerned departments.

The meeting was briefed that under MGNREGA, 47976 job cards have been issued by RDD in the district and 11.80 lakh work days have been generated in the year 2018-2019 and   GEO-tagging of 92.02% works have been completed.

The MP was also briefed that 428 women self-help groups have been created covering villages 49 to raise the existing livelihood of women under UMEED scheme of NRLM.

While reviewing the performance under SSA, it was given out that dropout rate has reduced and enrollment increased from 35554 to 38054. While appreciating the education department for its efforts and for outstanding performance of the government school students of Kulgam district in BOSE exams, Laway announced cash reward for top 20 position holders of the district.

Reviewing PHE sector achievements, Laway exhorted upon the concerned officers to make lift irrigation pumps functional at Sempora, Behibagh and other adjacent areas at the earliest.

The CMO briefed about the achievements in the Department and raised the need of funds for procurement of new equipments.

The MP directed the officers to implement the schemes in letter and spirit so that benefits reach to the grassroots level. He also urged the officers to organise awareness programmes in the district to familiarize the people about various schemes meant for them.
