Budgam, Jan 09: A girl (name withheld) allegedly committed suicide after failing in recently declared class 12th results here in Beerwah area.

A resident of Chewdara village of Beerwah consumed some poisonous substance at her home on last night, reports said.

She was rushed to sub-district hospital Beerwah after her condition deteriorated she was referred to JVC Bemina where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Block Medical Officer Beerwah, Bashir Khan said that the after post-mortem he can share the details of the incident.

Police sources said that they have lodged an FIR and the cause of death would be ascertained only after investigation.

Pertinently, two girls of class 12 also tried to end their lives after failing to pass exams in north Kashmir on Tuesday.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School of Education declared class 12 results on Monday with pass percentage of 52.
