Tral, Jan 06: Shutdown continued for the fourth consecutive day today in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today against the killing of three militants in a gunfight with the government forces in Gulshanpora forests on Thursday.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed in the area while public transport was off the roads.

Three militants, Shakoor Ahmad Parray of LaribalTral, Zubair Ahmad and Tauseef Ahmad of ChersooAwantipora, were killed in the gunfight.

People from different areas continued to visit the houses of slain militants and offered prayers for them.

On Saturday, another encounter raged in Aripal area of Tral amid snowfall, which continued throughout the day and ended without any killings. A two-storey residential house was completely destroyed during the gunfight while a paramilitary CRPF trooper was injured.
