Anantnag: A meeting of general body of Maraaz Adbee Sangam was today convened at head office Bijbehara to express condolences over the sad demise of renowned writer and critic late Hamidi Kashmiri.

A statement issued here said that the condolence meet was presided over by Manzoor Khalid. Besides patron MAS Ajaz G M Laloo, Yousuf Jahangir, Izhar Mubashir, Naasir Munawar, Naadir Ahsan, Muzafar Gazaal, Master Zameer, Muzafar Zaboo, Umer Fayaz a good number of writers of South Kashmir attended the meeting.

While speaking on the occasion Yousuf Jahangir said the Prof. Hamidi Kashmiri was a world renowned critic and accepted writer not only of Urdu language but equally of Kashmiri language. His valuable writings shall guide and influence the literature of Kashmiri and Urdu languages for ages to come. Jinab Laloo termed Hamidi Kashmiri as a legendary writer of Urdu language.

Other speakers also paid tributes to Prof. Hamidi Kashmiri.
