Post snowfall: DC Kargil seeks uninterrupted services

KARGIL, JANUARY 05: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today issued instructions to all concerned departments in the district to ensure prompt redressal of concerns and issues faced by the people besides providing them uninterrupted services post the fresh snowfall.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure round the clock monitoring of the situation so as to deal with any possible exigencies and to keep their men and machinery in full readiness.

The DC impressed upon the officers concerned to lay immediate focus in the aftermath of snowfall like restoration of power supply, inter and intra district road connectivity, drinking water supply, traffic management, operationalisation of heating system in hospitals, ensuring adequate stock of ration, LPG and kerosene for consumers at ration stores.

The departments have been further directed to maintain vigil and close coordination in view of the current weather situation.

Meanwhile a Control Room with telephone number 01985232263 has been established at DC Office to maintain round the clock monitoring of the situation.

Besides, the DC has also directed the Sub Divisional Magistrates to establish similar control rooms in different zones to ensure round the clock monitoring of the situation and to establish effective coordination to deal with any possible exigencies.
