Bandipora, Dec 30: Residents of Hajin town in Bandipora district on Monday complained of acute shortage of drinking water in their area from past two to three weeks.

While blaming the authorities for failing to ensure drinking water supply in their area, some locals said: “In order to bring the issue in the notice of the authorities, we have approached the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department several times but nothing was done to solve the scarcity of water in our area.”

They said that on one hand the government is making tall claims of providing proper facilities to people in winter and on the other hand the PHE department has failed to provide drinking water to the people of Hajin town.

They appealed Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter and address their legitimate demand at an earliest.
