Srinagar, Dec 29: Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, GOC-in-C, Northern Command interacted with 20 girl students from various schools and colleges in Srinagar who were returning from a capacity building tour organised under Op Sadhbhavana at Udhampur today. The tour aimed at providing exposure to the students about the rich cultural heritage, diversity and economic growth in the country, besides giving them insight into some of the leading educational institutes.

A defense spokesman in a statement said that the tour was flagged off by Chief of Staff of Chinar Corps on 19 Dec 18 and visited various places of historical and educational interest. Some important ones are Lady Harding Medical College, Convent of Jesus and Mary, Miranda House, Parliament House The Rashtrapati Bhawan, Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. The students also visited various places of recreational interest in the national capital and returned with memories which the dust of time will not be able to fade.

The Army Commander while interacting with students exhorted them to work hard, dream big and contribute positively towards nation building. The participants also spoke about the rich experience gained from this tour and thanked the Army for providing such an invaluable exposure. Farheen Khan, a class ninth student remarked that the tour was an unforgettable exposure and that she was highly impressed with modern teaching practices being followed in some of the leading educational institutions in Delhi.
