Mehjoor Ali shines in CAG Delhi’s win against Sahara Pune

Srinagar, Dec 29: CAG Delhi defeated Sahara Pune by 68 runs in the semifinal match of ongoing Shri Gajanan Maharaj T20 Tournament Nagpur on Saturday here.

Batting first, CAG Delhi scored 196 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For CAG Delhi Faraz scored 42 runs, Arpit unbeaten 41 and Jaskaran played a quick knock of 29 runs.

While chasing the target of 197 runs, Sahara Pune failed to chase down the target and it was again speed star of J&K Mehjoor Ali Sofi who gave the initial break through to the CAG team and restricted Sahara Pune on 128 runs as they lost the match by 68 runs.

Speed star Mehjoor took 4 wickets in 4 overs and gave away just 11 runs, while as Vignesh took 3.

Mehjoor was declared man of the match. He is the highest wicket taker tournament so far with 11 wickets in his kitty.

The final match of the tournament will be played tomorrow between CAG Delhi VS Mumbai

His performance has sent a strong message to the JKCA selectors as he is the highest wicket taker in the ongoing national Shri Gajanan Maharaj T20 Tournament being played at Nagpur.

Earlier, in the same tournament, Mehjoor took seven wickets in two matches at an economy of less than 4.5 per over.
