‘Khelo India’: DDC Ramban inaugurates cricket match

RAMBAN, DECEMBER 29: District administration Ramban organized a cricket tournament here at Ukhral under ‘Khelo India’ programmewas inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban Showkat Aijaz Bhat.

SDM RamsooVikarGiri, CPO RambanUttam Singh, Tehsildar Urkhral Rahul Balsotra, prominent people including Seva Singh witnessed the match.

In the tournament, 24 teams from Ramsoo and Urkhral areas participated.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the purpose of organizing such events is to nourish the sports talent besides developing team spirit among the youth. He said that no stone will be left unturned in the promotion of sports activities in the district.

DDC said that district administration is going to develop a sports-friendly atmosphere to ensure more players from the district will play in state, national and international level in future.

He also awarded the winners and other participant teams with sports kits and tracksuits besides trophies to the players.

DDC directed the SDM Ramsoo to develop playfields to provide opportunities to youth for participating in sports activities for their overall development.

Later, DDC interacted with the locals at Ukhral and Ramsoo where he listened to the public grievances.

He further directed the concerned officers to ensure that the issues of the people are resolved on priority.

The DDC said that the aim of public outreach drive is to bring the administration to the doorsteps of common people. He also passed necessary directions to resolve problems regarding power supply, healthcare, sports activity, employment, water supply and other basic facilities.
