Bandipora MCB launches sanitation drive, awareness program

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 28: Municipal Committee Bandipora (MCB) on Friday organised a sanitation drive cum awareness programme here at Mehboob-ul-Alam College of Education.

The program was attended by students of various schools besides officials and staff of Municipal Committee Bandipora.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir was the chief guest on the occasion while Executive Officer MCB, Wali Mohammad was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC   stressed on ensuring cleanliness in the town and urged the students to act as the ambassadors of cleanliness and sanitation. He asked them to ensure cleanliness in their schools and homes by using dustbins and motivate their family members to do the same. He said students can play an important role in making the Bandipora town clean to safeguard the aesthetic beauty of the district. He assured full support from district administration for this noble cause.

Speaking on the occasion Executive Officer Wali Mohammad Wani said that the health and hygiene are correlated terms and in order to put a check on diseases, maintaining cleanliness and healthy surroundings is a basic requirement. He urged the students to act as a catalyst of social change by leading the campaign with grit and enthusiasm.

Earlier students and the Safayi Karamchari of MCB launched a cleanliness drive in school and removed the garbage from around the school vicinity and disposed of it in dustbins.
