They added that traffic movement on Sopore–Srinagar road was halted for hours.

Protestors raised the slogans in favour of their demands and demanded proper staff and doctors in Mother and Child Hospital Sopore.

A police party later reached the spot and assured the protestors that matter will be taken to higher authorities of health department.

Meanwhile, when contacted Block Medical officer Sopore, Dr Sami, said: “We have a proper staff at hospital but three doctors can’t do justice with the huge rush of patients but they are trying hard to tackle with the rush like big hospitals.”

He, however, added that still there will be weaknesses but to hit the streets is not the solution. “If patients are demanding to change the staff here we will work on it.”
