Srinagar: Kupwara police cracked a case of burglary by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime and recovered stolen items worth lacs of rupees from their possession.

A complainant Manzoor Ahmad Tanzoo son of Ghulam Ahmad Tanzoo resident of Kralpora reported to Police Station Kralpora that some unknown burglars have stolen mobile phones and other electronic accessories from his shop located at Kralpora Market, a police spokesman said in a statement issued today.

On receipt of this information, a case FIR number 89/2018 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation in the matter was initiated, said the spokesman.

He said that during the course of investigation, two persons identified as Reyaz Ahmad Ganie son of Khazar Mohammad Ganie and Hilal Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Sultan Ganie, both residents of Gazriyal Kupwara were called for questioned.

“During questioning, the duo was found involved in the commission of crime. Stolen items worth lacs of rupees including mobile phones and their accessories were recovered on their disclosure. Further investigation in the matter is going on,” said the spokesman.
