Revenue officials charge-sheeted in corruption case

Srinagar, Dec 20: Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Kashmir has charge-sheeted two Revenue department officials in a corruption case, an official spokesman said Thursday.

He said the accused public servants — Rifat Ara, the then Tehsildar Settlement Budgam, and Abdul Rashid Shah, the then Mohsib Tehsil Office Settlement Budgam were charge-sheeted in the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar.

The charge-sheet was filed on the basis of the joint surprise check conducted by ACB into the allegations that these officials had entered into a predesigned criminal conspiracy and fraudulently, dishonestly and by abusing their official positions misappropriated Rs 12 lakhs by way of manipulation of records and drawing of allowance bills fraudulently of the employees posted in the Tehsil Office, Settlement, Budgam, the spokesman said.
