11th class to have CBSE pattern question papers from current academic session

Srinagar, Dec 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has decided to change the pattern of the question paper for class 11th students from this year.

The question paper will be set on the analogy of CBSE pattern.

Chairman JKBOSE, Veena Pandita said they questions posed in the paper will be analytical rather than theoretical which was in vogue from past years.

“The change in the question papers for Class 11th students will be implemented from the annual (regular) examination October-November, 2019,” reads a public notification issued by Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK).

The change in pattern will apply for the students of Kashmir division, winter zone areas of Jammu besides Leh and Kargil districts as well.

The pattern of question papers has been modified and the new question papers shall be now framed on the analogy of CBSE. The model question papers will be kept available on the JKBOSE website: www.jkbose.ac.in.

However, the Education department has decided that the examination of re-appear or failure candidates on the old pattern of question papers will be held for only one year in two exams after declaration of annual (regular) 2018 results in Kashmir division, winter zones of Jammu and Annual (regular) results 2019 in case of summer zone of Jammu division.

“The pattern has been changed in wake of the demand from students that CBSE pattern should be implemented in BOSE exams,” the notification reads.
