MAPIM condemns Pulwama killings, Yasin Malik’s detention

Srinagar: The Malaysian Consultation Council of Islamic Organization (MAPIM ) a conglomeration of 200 organizations, has condemned the recent killings in Pulwama.

“We regret the deafening silence of the world community over the Indian forces atrocities in Kashmir,” the statement reads.

It further reads that report of the detention of the Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Yasin Malik, by the Indian forces to curtail the rightful  movement to self determination for Kashmir, is  unacceptable.

“Yasin Malik is a legitimate leader of the Kashmiri’s struggle for independence from India,” reads the statement.

The statement regrets inaction of UN to stop the human rights violations in Kashmir.

“The brutal treatment of Yasin Malik who was kept in jail  and  not providing him basic treatment for his deteriorating health, is a criminal act against international law,” the statement circulated by JKLF further reads.

We demand for a world response to the inhuman and injustice act of the India forces, reads the statement, adding, “the UN Security Council must intervene immediately, less this world agency will be regarded as a complicit to the crimes of war by India forces in Kashmir.”

The statement asks OIC Chairman to voice the group’s concern and to send a strong message to India and also urges the Malaysian government to take steps and initiatives to register its protest against  the atrocities in Kashmir.
