Director flags off farmers group for training outside State

JAMMU, DECEMBER 17: A group of 33 farmers from different districts of Jammu division was flagged off for a five-day training programme outside the state by Director Agriculture H. K. Razdan here today.

The training programme is being organized by Joint Directorate of Agriculture Extension Jammu at CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi-Vishav-Vidayalaya (CSKHPKVV) Palampur under National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology (NMAE &T).

The Director, while interacting with the farmers, exhorted upon them to update their knowledge in Integrated Farming Systems comprising Crop Production, Mushrooms Growing, Beekeeping, Animal Rearing, Vermi-composting, Vegetable Cultivation and Cultivation of Spices and Medicinal Plants during the training period. He impressed upon them to interact with the farm scientists and research workers to know and learn about the latest methodology in cultivation of crops.

Joint Director of Agriculture Extension Bulesh Kumar Zutshi asked the farmers to get fully acquainted with the latest technologies of farming being popularized in hill agriculture.

Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs) K. S. Sambyal, SMS (RL)/Agronomist Vegetables, P.S. Mastana, Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) Jagmohan Bhat, Training Officer (FTC) SarmeshGhasi, Agriculture Information Officer J C. Raina, Programme Officer, Yaduvinder Singh, AEO Apiculture Sanjeev Kotwal, AEO Akhnoor Jitender Singh, JAEO (HQ) Vikas Radha and other field functionaries of the department were also present on the occasion.

Balkrishan Mahajan, SMS (SDL) would be accompanying the farmers during the Training Programme.
