Hurriyat-G, JKLF protest against HR violations

Srinagar, December 148: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders and activists held peaceful protests after congregational Friday prayers in Hyderpora and Maisuma Lal Chowk in Srinagar against the human rights violations.

In a statement issued here today, a Hurriyat spokesman said that a protest was held at Hyderpora Srinagar against human rights violations, , excessive use of pallet guns and shifting of political prisoners to Indian jails at the hands.

Hurriyat Leaders appealed Amnesty International, Asia Watch, and other international organization for human rights to break silence and take cognizance of the plight of suppressed and oppressed people in state of Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, scores of JKLF leaders and activists today staged peaceful protest at Maisuma Lal Chowk Srinagar against human rights violations, a JKLF spokesman said, adding, the protests were held as per the program of joint resistance leadership (JRL).

JKLF Leaders addressed protesters and condemned the spree of killings, vandalizing people’s properties and other oppressive acts of government, said the spokesman.
