Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, DC Jammu Ramesh Kumar, VC JDA Pawan Rathore and DG YS&S Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman accompanied him.

At the site, the Advisor was briefed about the project and was told that the department of Youth Services & Sports initiated the project and construction works were allotted to JKPCC at an estimated cost of Rs 6.49 crore.

Director General YS&S informed the Advisor about the status of construction and other related works. The Advisor took round of the site and was told about the details of land which was earlier provided for the construction of this project.

The Advisor was told that at present 34 kanal land is held by the YS&S department for creating sports facilities at the site which is not sufficient enough to cater to the needs of the department. It was further informed that as per the records, the said land is not transferred to the department as of now for which VC JDA was asked to do the needful.

The issue of providing adjoining land measuring 20 kanal to the department was also discussed so that construction works followed by sports activities are carried out on total area of 54 kanal.

The Advisor asked the Deputy Commissioner to look into the issue and transfer the said land to YS&S department for carrying out the construction works and ensuring the completion of the project at the earliest.

Addressing the officers, the Advisor said that the project is of utmost importance and it is the collective responsibility of all to resolve the issues that causes delay in the completion of this  sports project. He asked the district administration and YS&S department to resolve the land transfer issue soon and continue with the construction works.

Meanwhile, the Advisor also visited the Youth Hostel Nagrota and interacted with the players of Under-17 teams participating in the ongoing 64th National school games football tournament.

He enquired from them about the stay, food and other necessary arrangements being provided to them by YS&S department. He asked the department to ensure that the players get every facility at the hostel for their comfortable stay over here.

Later, the Advisor also visited the ongoing NCC Camp where he interacted with the cadets selected for representing the state at the Republic Day Camp – 2019, to be held in New Delhi.

K Vijay Kumar wished the J&K NCC contingent high success in all the competitive events to be held at the 2019 Republic Day NCC Camp.
