DGP reviews functioning of Police Public Schools

Approves proposals for development of infrastructure

Jammu, December 11: Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh chaired a meeting of management committee for J&K Police Public schools here today.

The meeting reviewed the functioning of J&K Police Public schools established across the state.

The meeting was attended by Chairperson Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) Dr Rubinder Kaur, ADGP Headquarter A G Mir IGP Armed Jammu Danesh Rana, IGP Headquarter Anand Jain, Shabnam Mir, Asmat Salaria, Sunaina Mehta PWWA members, SSP M S Chohan, SSP PTWS Rajesh Bali, AI’sG of PHQ Shalinder Singh, Manoj Kumar Pandith, SSP Hqr. Jammu R C Kotwal, XEN PCD Khurshid Ahmad Wani and other officers.

The DGP reviewed functioning of Police Public Schools at Jammu, Srinagar, Doda, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla and Kupwara, one by one. He also sought reports regarding the progress in academics and sports of the schools as also issues faced by these institutions.

While discussing different issues, the DGP instructed the officers to identify the areas where further improvements are required. He said that various facilities for the students also need to be enhanced to bring improvements in the overall functioning of the schools.

The DGP approved some proposals with regard to infrastructure of these schools.

He gave directions regarding the improvement in the transport facilities. He advised the officers to identify the schools were computer labs and libraries are required to be established so as to improve educational standards of these schools.

DGP directed the officers to explore the possibilities of providing smart classes in these schools so as to use this modern education technique in best possible way.

He said that rewards for students excelling in sports at national and state level should be considered to boost their morale and talent. He emphasized for extra-curricular activities in the schools for the mental and physical development of students.

In the meeting a number of proposals for enhancing the educational standards were discussed many of them were approved.

The members of the committee gave suggestions for enhancing the quality of education in these schools.
