Dr Lone takes stock of facilities at Homes for Blind, Aged

JAMMU, DECEMBER 08: Secretary Social Welfare Department, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Lone, today visited Government Residential School for Blind at Roop Nagar here to take a first-hand appraisal of facilities being provided to the inmates there.

Dr. Lone was accompanied by Mission Director ICDS, Veer Ji Hangloo, Mission Director ICPS, G A Sofi, Director Social Welfare Jammu, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Additional Secretary, Babu Ram and other senior officers of the Department.

The Secretary while assessing facilities including education, lodging, nutrition and hygiene to the inmates expressed satisfaction and appreciated officers and staff of the Home for their efforts towards the betterment of the inmates.

Responding to the demands put forth by the inmates during the interaction, Dr. Lone assured for their timely fulfilment.

Later, Dr. Lone along with officers visited ‘Home for Aged and Infirm, Ambphalla’ and interacted with the inmates and staff of the Home. He assessed facilities being provided to the inmates there.

The Secretary also convened a meeting of the officers of the Department to take stock of the departmental functioning.
