Army pays tributes to slain soldier
Srinagar: Army today paid tributes to Late Gunner Rajesh Kumar who was killed in cross Line of Control (LoC) firing in Machil Sector of Kupwara district on December 06, 2018.
“In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. Representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the martyr,” a defense spokesman said in a statement issued today.
Late Gunner Rajesh Kumar sustained bullet injuries during ceasefire Violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control in Machil sector. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries, the spokesman said.
Late Gunner Rajesh Kumar, was 25 years old and had joined the Army in 2013. He belonged to Village Rejua of Jalesar Tehsil in Etah District of Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his parents and wife.
The mortal remains of the slain were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours, said the spokesman.
