Upper House accords farewell to outgoing MLCs

JAMMU, DECEMBER 06: Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, senior officers and staff of the Council Secretariat today accorded warm send off to four outgoing members of the Upper House on the completion of their term, here today.

A grand function was organized for the outgoing members Ghulam Nabi Monga, (INC), Sham Lal Baghat (INC), Dr Shahnaz Ganie (NC) and Ali Mohammed Dar (NC).

Speaking on this occasion, the Chairman Legislative Council highlighted the contribution of the outgoing members in maintaining the decorum and esteem of the house particularly in raising the issues of the people. He thanked the outgoing members for their valuable suggestions   provided from time to time for maintaining good atmosphere during the sessions.

The sitting members of the house Ramesh Arora, Saif-Ud-Din Bhat, Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, Showkat Ahmad Ganie, Firdous Ahmed Tak, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ajatshatru Singh, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Chering Dorjay and Mohammad Khurshid Alam also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the contribution of the outgoing members.

In their address, outgoing Members Ghulam Nabi Monga, ALi Mohammed Dar and Sham Lal Bhagat highlighted the importance of legislature in a democracy. The outgoing members hailed members of the house for their support and encouragement. They also thanked   Council Secretariat staff for their contribution and support.

The function was also attended by Secretary Law Achal Sethi, Special Secretary Council, Ishfaq Ahmed Wani, Additional Secretary Council, Ali Mohammad Rawat, Additional Secretary Law, M K Pandita and other officers and officials of the Council Secretariat.
