Vyas reviews follow-up action on issues highlighted during public hearing

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 04: Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas today chaired a meeting to review the follow-up action taken on the issues   highlighted in the public hearing here on Monday.

Threadbare discussions was held on the issues pertaining to displaced families of Kishenganga project, Ring road project, critical gaps in drainage projects, and basic amenities besides several others.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Vice Chairman Srinagar Development Authority Sajad Hussain, Chief Engineer R&B Sami Arif, representatives of National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) and other concerned officials.

While discussing the issues pertaining to displaced families of Kishen Ganga project, the Advisor directed the concerned to train the children of these families under Corporate Social Responsibility and impart them the skills required for better employment avenues to enable them to earn for themselves.

Taking note of grievances pertaining to landowners who gave away their land for construction of Ring road in Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama, the Advisor directed the officials to settle the issue forthwith and ensure that the construction of the Ring road is started at an earliest.

He also directed the VC SDA to get the choked drains cleared in the erstwhile Batamaloo bus stand with the help of SMC, and further directed Chief Engineer R&B to fill the potholes to ensure hassle-free movement of pedestrians.

Later, the Advisor reviewed the power scenario, availability of Food Civil Supplies and cooking gas besides other necessities in Kashmir in the   winters.
