LAHDC Leh delegation meets Governor

JAMMU, DECEMBER 3: A delegation of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, led by its Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation requested Governor to urge the Union Government for granting Union Territory status to Ladakh; restoration of one post of Executive Councillor in the Executive Council of LAHDC, Leh; opening of Kailash Mansarovar route from Ladakh; inclusion of Bhoti language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution; impress upon the air transport operators to fix a cap on airfares or framing flat flight rate for local people of Ladakh and the government employees working in the Ladakh region; exemption from GST for the Scheduled Tribes living in Ladakh region; carving out a separate administrative Division for Ladakh with Kargil and Leh districts and various other issues relating to filling of vacant posts and creation of posts in Government institutions of Ladakh and release of funds for various important projects.
