KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 03: The Animal Husbandry Department organized a day-long training-cum-awareness camp under the supervision of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen under Agricultural Technology Mission Agency (ATMA) scheme for Dairy cattle farmers here today.

The CAHO briefed all the participants about scientific dairy farming, poultry rearing, Milk and Milk products, maintenance of health and hygiene for animals, loan facility for farmers, Vermi-composting, Veterinary Extension, Prophylactic vaccination etc.

Livestock sector plays vital role in providing nutritious food besides supplementing family income by generating gainful employment in rural areas particularly the landless, small, marginal farmers and women, the CAHO added.

CHO, Mushtaq Husaain, Saffron Development Officer,

Satish Kumar, Dr. Akhtar Hussain, AEO Sanjay Sharma also spoke on the occasion and shared their experiences.

The farmers were provided necessary training by experts for rearing dairy cattle on scientific lines to achieve maximum milk production besides protecting their livestock from various diseases through departmental vaccination programmes.

Later, de worming medicine and mineral mixture were distributed among the farmers.

Among others present during the occasion were, Dr. Mubashar Hussain, Dr. Arif Shah, staff of Animal Husbandry and Information department besides prominent citizens.
