Kumar inaugurates Workshop cum Conference ‘Gynae-Endocon 2018’

JAMMU, DECEMBER 01: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today inaugurated 2-Day Workshop cum Conference ‘Gynae-Endocon 2018’ at Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.

The workshop is being organized by Post Graduate Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Govt Medical College Jammu & SMGS Hospital in collaboration with Jammu Obstetric & Gynaecological Society (JOGS).

Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, Principal/Dean GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina, HoD Department of Gynaecolgy Sr Indu Kaul, President JOGS Dr Sudhaa Sharma, distinguished faculty from outside the state, senior doctors and medical students from the field of Gynaecology were present during the inaugural session.

On the occasion, it was informed that the Workshop is aimed at providing a common platform to all the delegates in enhancing, upgrading their skills in the endoscopic procedures. Endoscopic Surgery is one of the greatest revolutions in medical history and is changing the way surgery is done in all surgical fields especially in gynaecology.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Kumar who is holding the charge of Health department congratulated the Department of Gynaecology and Jammu Chapter of Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology for organizing this important Workshop/Conference and inviting senior faculty from other parts of the country for sharing their experience with others.

He also talked about the role of Bio-Medical Engineering in the present medical world and said that the alliance of skilled doctors and robotics if made efficiently can take the surgeries to the next level.

Vijay Kumar said that everyone participating in the Workshop would surely be benefitted from each other’s experience and update their skills by interacting with senior doctors working in the field for long.

“I hope that the delegates will take advantage of this scientific platform in upgrading their skills, knowledge on the subject and pass on the benefits to the patients”, he added.

The Advisor assured the organizers all possible support in carrying forward this kind of capacity building programmes and said that such events would be organized regularly for the benefit of faculty and students. He thanked the distinguished faculty who have accepted the invitation and come to the state for making presentations on the subject and providing training to the enthusiastic team of doctors here.

During the Workshop, live surgery demonstrations, paper presentation, poster presentation, panel discussion and scientific sessions were conducted.

Later, the Advisor also interacted with the faculty, doctors and medical students participating in the workshop.
