Man arrested for sending ‘obscene content’ to girl
Srinagar, Nov 30: Police have arrested a resident of Rajouri district for allegedly threatening and sending obscene content to a Srinagar girl on her phone.
Reports said a man approached Police Station Nishat with a complaint that one Muzafar Ahmed Mughal, a resident of Rajouri, was sending obscene content to her daughter on her phone.
The complainant also alleged that Mughal was also threatening her and demanding money and blackmailing her, said the report.
Following the complaint, a case was registered and a team was formed under the supervision of SHO police station Nishat to nab the accused, a police spokesman said.
“During the course of the investigation, the police team apprehended the accused person from Rajouri area. A case under FIR No 70/2018 U/s 506 RPC, 66-C, 66-E IT Act has been registered,” he said.
A police spokesman urged the general public to approach police if they face any such incident or the social crime so that culprits are brought to justice.
