Providing better, affordable healthcare facilities Govt’s priority: Vijay Kumar

BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 29: Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar today asserted that providing better and affordable healthcare facilities to the people is the top priority of Governor led administration.

He said that various schemes and programmes have been initiated in the health sector so that qualitative healthcare facilities are delivered.

Kumar expressed these views during his extensive tour to Pattan wherein he reviewed the institutional and infrastructural mechanism of the health sector.

He was accompanied by Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo, District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, Director health services Kashmir,SSP Baramulla, officers of several departments and others concerned.

During his visit, Vijay Kumar said that the recently implemented health care protection scheme – Ayushman Bharat has been launched with the aim to provide health insurance cover to the poor and destitute families for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

The Advisor also visited Trauma hospital here and inspected its various sections. He was briefed by the Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo about various medical facilities provided to the patients.

Meanwhile, the Advisor interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. The Advisor was appraised about various issues and demands wherein assured for their early redressal of all genuine problems.

Earlier, the Advisor also visited sub-district hospital to review its functioning. The concerned BMO briefed the Advisor with various facilities available there. On the occasion, Kumar met several deputations who appraised him about issues pertaining to the health sector.
