Srinagar: A Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) spokesman today said that frequent and prolonged incarcerations have taken a heavy toll on JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik’s  health which is deteriorating at a very fast speed.

“JKLF chairman has spent most of his time in jails especially from last four years. This was stated by various Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders while speaking at a meeting that was organized to deliberate upon the worsening health of Malik who is languishing in police custody from 19th November 2018,” the spokesman said.

Terming the frequent and prolonged incarcerations of JKLF chairman as travesty of justice and democracy, JKLF leaders said that though Malik has been in and out of jails and police stations from a long time and has spent most of his time in incarceration centers but from 2014 arresting and putting him in jails and police stations has become a daily routine and these frequent and prolonged incarcerations have actually taken a heavy toll on his health which has deteriorated considerably, the spokesman said.

The speakers urged international human rights organizations, UNHRC, amnesty international and ICRC to take a serious cognizance of deteriorating health of JKLF chairman, said the spokesman.
