 Awareness camp for sheep breeders held at Keller Shopian

SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 28: Sheep Husbandry Department Shopian today organized one-day awareness cum capacity building camp of sheep breeders at Keller, Shopian.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, Dr Majid Jahangir was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion ACR Shopian apprised the sheep breeders about the employment potential of sheep sector in tackling up the problem of unemployment. On the occasion ACR Shopian distributed woolen blankets among the sheep breeders.

He stressed upon the officers of the department to organize such kind of awareness camps at Tehsil and Block levels also so that more sheep breeders have better awareness about the ongoing schemes.

District Sheep Husbandry Officer conducted a detailed interaction with the sheep breeders and assured them of their possible support of Sheep Husbandry Department.

Experts from various departments like JKEDI, KVK-SKUAST, JK Bank participated in the programme and gave a detailed appraisal of various employment generating schemes available with their department.

Among others Tehsildar Keller, Naib Tehsildar Keller, Doctors of Animal and Sheep Department, officials of sheep husbandry and other concerned were present on the occasion.
