Srinagar, November 28:(GNS) LeT operational commander Naveed Jatt among two militants killed in a gunfight at Chatergam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said that Naveed Jatt along with his associate were killed in the gunfight at Chatergam.

“Among the two militants killed, one is identified as Naveed Jatt alias Hanzallah affiliated with militant outfit LeT,” the spokesman said.

Earlier a police officer said that the encounter broke out after receiving credible inputs about the presence the militant group .

Follwing the gunfight, youth took to streets near the encounter site and areas adjoining to it.

The youths pelted stones on forces. The police and paramilitary forces used smoke shells, pellets and some live ammunition resulting in injuries to three persons.

All the injured were taken to nearby hospital where from two bullet wounded refered to SMHS for advanced treatment.(GNS)
