75.2% turnout in Phase III of Panchayat Polls-2018

Srinagar, Nov 24: In the Phase-III of Panchayat Polls held today, 75.2 percent electors exercised their franchise across the state.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer J&K, ShaleenKabra, an overwhelming 83 percent polling was witnessed in Jammu division and 55.7 percent in Kashmir division.

Giving district-wise details, Kabra said that Kupwara witnessed 59.7 percent Bandipora 51 percent, Baramulla 30.8 percent, Ganderbal 12 percent, Budgam 41 percent, Kargil, 75.6 percent, Leh 64.1 percent, Kishtwar 85 percent, Doda 77.4 percent, Ramban 85.7 percent, Udhampur 83.8 percent, Kathua 83.2 percent, Rajouri 80.3 percent and Poonch 87.8 percent.

He said over 3.20 lakh electors turned out to exercise their franchise in Phase-III.

Pertinently, in the Phase-I of Panchayat Polls held on 17 November 2018, 74.1 percent polling was recorded across the State with 64.5 percent in Kashmir division and 79.5 percent in Jammu division.

Similarly, in Phase-II overall 71.1 percent polling was witnessed across the State with 80.4 percent polling in Jammu division and 52.2 percent in Kashmir division.

Voting for Phase-IV of Panchayat Polls will take place on November 27, 2018.
