Srinagar: Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik today regretted ‘silence of international community about human rights violations in Kashmir.

Malik, who is in police custody, said in a statement issued today that brutal assassination of political leaders and activists like Mir Hafizullah amounts to annihilation of an entire generation.

Malik said that assassination of Mir Hafizullah has created a big void in the ranks of resistance camp and ‘we all are in a state of mourning on his untimely departure.’

Meanwhile, JKLF leaders and activists today staged a peaceful protest against the killing of Mir Hafizullah, massacre of more young Kashmiris like that in Bijbihara today, a JKLF spokesman said in a statement issued here.

“JKLF has paid rich tributes to Azad Ahmad Malik, Basit Mir, Firdous Ahmad, Shahid Malik, Younis Shafi and Aatif Ahmad killed in an encounter at Bijbihara,” the spokesman said.
