DC Srinagar reviews registration process under AB-PMJAY scheme

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 22: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Thursday reviewed the registration process under the national flagship programme Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the district.

The meeting was informed that some 24,000 families out of the total about 77,000 families entitled to be covered under the scheme in the district have been identified and their registration under the scheme is underway.

It was said that the district administration has put into service four different departments including Health, SMC, ICDS and Revenue to complete the registration of all entitled families and individuals under the scheme.

The DC urged the entitled families of the district figuring in the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data to come forward and register under the health insurance scheme to avail of the benefits.

He said Tehsildars have been designated as nodal officers within their concerned jurisdictions and that concerned BMOs, CDPOs and Ward Officers have been instructed to coordinate with them for earliest completion of the entire registration process.

Pertinently, there are some 77,000 families consisting of about 4.85 lac individuals which are entitled to be covered under the scheme in the district. As many as 146 Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the district will enrol beneficiaries under the scheme.

The Ayushman Bharat scheme is targeted at poor, deprived rural families and identified occupational category of urban workers’ families and entitles beneficiaries to a defined benefit cover of 5 lac rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

ADC Srinagar, SDMs East and West Srinagar, ACR Srinagar and concerned officers from Health, SMC, ICDS and Revenue departments and officials of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited attended the meeting.
