Srinagar, Nov 21: Amid possibility of governor Satya pal Malik dissolving state assembly after the announcement of grand alliance by Congress, National Conference and PDP, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Chief G A Mir on Thursday said they have “sixty member team” and “we will see whether governor can dissolve the House undemocratically.”

“All secular parties have come together for the bigger interest of state and public. For saving constitution may it be Article 370 and 35A, we have to rise above party lines especially when eminent dangers are bigger,” G A Mir told Global News Service (GNS) amid reports that Congress, PDP and NC will stake claims for the government in next few hours.

Asked whether Congress party has been contacted by PDP or NC, Mir responded: “If we happen to be one who alerted others, how can I react.”

Asked whether assembly can be dissolved by the governor who reportedly has been signalled by the New Delhi to do so, Mir said: “That I believe will happen because coming together of secular parties will not suit the politics of BJP. There alternative will be to dissolve House and let them do so. That is their job and let us see. Until yesterday Governor was saying he will not dissolve the House till 2020 and let us see whether BJP gets frightened by coming together of the secular movement.”

He added: “We have sixty member team and we will see whether the governor adopts undemocratic means. Otherwise, had it been BJP’s call to form the government, he would wait for six more months. We have also discussed it. They tried to bulldoze other parties but we have tried to join all parties on a single platform.”  (GNS)
