Kumar visit Bhaderwah, reviews progress of work on District Jail Complex

BHADARWAH, NOVEMBER 20: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today visited new Bhaderwah in district Doda to review the progress of works for upcoming District Jail Complex being constructed by JK Police Housing Corporation (JKPHC).

IGP Jammu Dr S D S Jamwal, DG Youth Service & Sports J&K Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and other concerned officers accompanied the Advisor.

During the visit, the Advisor was apprised about the detail of works being undertaken along with their present status. It was told that the new District Jail Complex is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17 crore, covering an area of 49000 SFT which can accommodate 200 prisoners.

Regarding the details of the upcoming complex, it was given out that the complex is having separate blocks for officers besides hospital building, building for jail staff, separate buildings for both male/female prisoners and building for establishment of security wing and administrative block.

The concerned officer informed the Advisor that the new Jail Complex would be laced with the latest security gadgets and other necessary arrangements.

While interacting with the officers of the executing agency, the Advisor stressed speeding up the works so that the same is positively completed in given time frame. He also asked to maintain the quality of works keeping in mind the importance of the building.

The departments of Floriculture, Horticulture and Social Forestry were asked to take up the beautification works inside the premises of the complex by planting trees thereby creating healthy environment in and around the complex.

ADC Bhaderwah Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti along with ASP Bhaderwah and other districts and sectoral officers were also present at the site.
