Food Safety Deptt organizes awareness program in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 19: Food Safety Department on Monday organised an awareness-cum-training program for bakers of the Bandipora town.

Designated Food Safety Officer Bandipora Yameen Un Nabi on the occasion stressed on the bakers to maintain good hygiene and sanitary conditions at their workplaces. Officials informed the audience about the issues of health, hygiene, handling of raw material including eggs, cream, yeast, fruits besides maintaining personal hygiene.

The officials also stressed on the bakers to get all the food handlers medically examined after every six months for ruling out any contagious or communicable disease. They also informed the bakers about the ill effects of the unhygienic conditions at the workplace and also appealed the bakers to cooperate with the department in its endeavour to make available safe, wholesome and hygienic bakery to the consumers.

During the programme, the participants were also sensitised about the different provisions of FSS Act through Power Point Presentation and discussions for strict compliance of the same and future plans of the department with regard to the Food Safety Training & Certification (FoSTaC).

Later an interactive session was also held in which the bakers apprised the officials about various issues faced by them. The officials gave a patient hearing to them and assured that they will raise their issues in concerned quarters and will work positively to resolve all their issues.
