Work on 6 bridges worth Rs 39.46 crore underway in B’la

Sangrama, Wagoora, Pattan and Sopore blocks in Baramulla to get major connectivity boost under JTFRP

BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 16 Chief Executive Officer (CEC), Dr. Raghav Langer, J&K ERA/JTFRP today visited the project sites of six bridges in Baramulla district

The projects are being executed under World Bank funded JTFRP (Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project).

The bridges include Wazza Mohalla Bridge over Fristhar nallah, Wagela Bridge and Shrakwara Bridge over Ningli nallah, Wahdina Bridge, Gogjidaji Bridge (Sopore) and Trikolabal Bridge in Pattan with a cumulative construction cost of Rs 39.46 crores.

During the site visit, CEO ERA was informed that work on all the bridges is in full swing and construction of foundations and base work in all the 6 bridges is underway.

CEO ERA also witnessed the routine quality tests like concrete strength test, construction material. Officers of JKPCC and Technical and Quality Audit Consultants of JTFRP were directed to ensure that quality parameters of work be strictly monitored and cross-checked from NABL accredited laboratories. He further directed JKPCC to expedite the pace of work on all the bridges to ensure that works on all are completed within the set deadlines.

The construction of these bridges will provide all weather connectivity to the people living in these remote parts of District Baramulla to District headquarters and will also provide the inhabitants who mostly rely on horticulture and agriculture sector for the livelihood with better market access.

Harkewal Singh, General Manager, JKPCC, Deputy General Manager, JKPCC, Team Leader Technical and Quality Control Consultants of JTFRP and other officers of JTFRP, JKPCC accompanied CEO ERA/JTFRP during his site visit.
