25.83% turnout in Khansahib till 1 pm, only 2 votes cast in Watred

Notification issued for 1st phase of Panchayat polls

Budgam: Around 26 percent of polling was recorded in Khansahib block of district Budgam till 1 pm in the first phase of nine-phased panchayat elections on Saturday.

Sources said that 3326 votes were cast in the first five hours of voting. The polling began at 8 am and will end at 2 pm.

Only two votes were polled in Watred-25 panchayat halqa out of 376.

In Khansahib, the contests is mostly between independent candidates.
