Srinagar: The judicial remand of the chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Mitllat (DeM) Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates, Nahida Nasreen and Sofi Fehmeeda, which ended today, has been extended till December 4 bu Additional District & Sessions Judge, NIA special court, New Delhi.

However, the court didn’t take cognizance of the charge sheet filed by NIA on November 14 on the pretext of not having sufficient time to read the same, sources said.

Earlier in the day the District & Sessions Judge transferred the case of Andrabi and her associates to another newly designated NIA special court of Additional District and Session judge, Patiala House, New Delhi, added the sources.

Asiya Andrabi along with two associates has been charge sheeted by NIA under sections 120B, 121, 121A, 124A, 153A, 153B & 505 of the IPC & Sections 13, 17, 18, 38 & 39 of UAPA and they were arrested by NIA in July and currently lodged in Tihar jail.(VMS)
