BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 15: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today conducted a public darbar at Revenue Complex in Tehsil Khansaheb and took the first-hand appraisal of public grievances and demands.

During the darbar various public deputations, which included Ashas and Anganwadi workers, senior citizens and many locals from the areas of Khansaheb, Kaitch, Hawoora, Raiyaar and Kelshipora called on the DDC and raised their demands.

Expressing her concern over the losses suffered by various fruit growers in recent snowfall, the DDC directed concerned to ensure no affected farmer is left out in the damage assessment of trees for compensation.

Taking note of the delay in the execution of developmental works, the DDC directed the concerned officers from various engineering wings particularly R&B, PHE and PDD to blacklist the contractors who fail to meet the deadlines.

She stressed on early completion of developmental projects and directed officers to ensure prompt delivery of services to the public.

The DDC stressed on the officers to personally visit and take stock of works on ongoing developmental projects and ensure their timely completion.

Sehrish directed the Revenue officers to act promptly against the land grabbers and remove encroachments on roads and Government land in Khansaheb.

To ensure proper implementation of government rate list, the DDC emphasized on regular market checking across Khansaheb markets to book shopkeepers and traders who are found violating the Government issued rate list and selling substandard food items.

The DDC also stressed on scheduled water and electricity supply to the residents and asked health officers to ensure better health facilities at all hospitals and health centres to the public.

On the occasion, a local public delegation from Khansaheb demanded supply of safe and clean drinking water facility. They also demanded waiver of interest on the Kissan Credit loans that they have availed through various banks, besides supply of firewood during the winter season.

A delegation from Kaitch demanded development of Kaitch – Razgeer to Khansaheb and Kaitch- Shamsabad roads. Another delegation demanded the release of payments under SBM works.

A delegation from Raiyaar village demanded the construction of lavatory blocks for local Masjid, while as the delegation of Anganwadi and Asha workers demanded hike in their monthly incentives particularly for election duties.

A delegation from Hawoora demanded supply of safe drinking water facility. Meanwhile, a delegation of Chokidars and Numberdars also met the DDC and raised their demands during public darbar.

After listening to demands of delegations, the DDC assured that she would take up all genuine issues at appropriate forums for their resolution.

Among others, SDM Khansaheb Samar Nayak, DEPO Budgam Farooq Ahmad Raina, Tehsildar Khansaheb Prince Noor and other Tehsil level departmental heads and officers attended the public darbar.
