DDC Kulgam tours Kund Valley

KULGAM, NOVEMBER 14:  District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani today conducted an extensive tour of Kund valley in Kulgam to take stock of the damage caused to orchards due to recent snowfall and to listen to grievances of the people here.

The DDC visited Batingo, Kanchloo, Oriel, Waripora and other adjoining villages of Valley amid heavy rains, where various public deputations interacted with the DDC and appraised him about different problems confronting them.

Several deputations from various villages apprised him with the damage caused to their orchards due to recent snowfall.  The deputations also apprised the DDC about various issues which include repairing of roads, availability of drinking water, repair work of damaged transformers, regular supply of electricity and other issues.

Dr Wani listened to the demands and problems faced by the people patiently and assured them that all their issues would be redressed in a time-bound manner.

Interacting with the media, DDC said the motive behind holding such visits is to take stock of the damage caused to orchards in the area of Kund valley and to listen to problems faced by the people so that needful can be done to mitigate their sufferings on the priority basis. He also added that compensation to the orchardists will be credited to their accounts after receiving final damage report by the field agencies.
