DDC Budgam inaugurates ‘Eat Right India Movement’ awareness camp

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 13: The department of FSSAI Budgam in collaboration with Eat Right India Movement, an initiative of MHRD and Family Welfare GoI today organized an awareness camp at Townhall Budgam.

Inaugurating the function, the DDC Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, who was also the chief guest in the function, termed the camp an important initiative of the Union Government as it spreads the message (Eat Right India) among people.

The DDC lauded the organizers for choosing Budgam as the second location after Leh for holding such an awareness programme in the district. Sehrish urged people particularly youngsters, to change their daily food habits and avoid eating unhealthy food. She said stopping the unwanted practice will save people, especially young generation from facing health problems in future.

The DDC emphasized the need to add physical activity in daily schedule so as to develop physical as well as mental health.

She directed the FSSAI Budgam to conduct routine checks in markets to prevent the sale of substandard food items to ensure there is no sale of unhygienic food items.

Stressing on taking stringent action against the offenders, the DDC assured that she would personally keep a check on sale of substandard food items and assured action against the traders violating food safety standards in this district.

Later, the DDC flagged of cycle rally conducted by the Swasth Bharat Yatra of the students from JNV Budgam from Townhall Budgam to DC Office Budgam.

The event was attended by Deputy Director ERI, Pritha Gosh, Assistant Commissioner FSSAI Budgam ShuguftaJalali and gathering of students, NGOs, Volunteers, Traders and other concerned.
