Residents of the said villages told Kashmir Images that they appreciate the efforts of Power Development Department (PDD) employees for repairing the electric lines and damaged electricity poles within the shortest possible time, however the electric supply in their areas continue to remain disrupted.

“On the one hand, we are being told by the PDD employees that it will take some more time to restore the electricity supply in our areas as the main transmission line has got damaged and the other hand the officials have already declared full restoration of electricity in the district,” they added.

One of the residents, Ilyas Ahmad, of Zainapora village said: “A day after the snowfall, the damaged electric lines and electricity poles were full repaired but we are yet to see any improvement in the power supply.”

Another resident of Durapora Village Umar Shameem said, there is no advantage of restoring electric lines earlier as they do not find it useful they still face power problems in their area, short circuits, damages and other things are now backing the department for pacifying them.

Despite repeated attempts by this reporter, Executive Engineer PDD Shopian and AEE Sub-division Chitragam could not be contacted for comments.
