Srinagar: Meteorological Department in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday predicted light rains and snow from November 12 to15 in Kashmir valley.

“Hilly areas are likely to receive moderate snow while light rains and snow could lash plains from November 12-14,” a MeT official said.

He said that the inclement weather could continue till November 15 and could affect traffic movement on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

Kashmir valley received heavy snowfall on November 3, disrupting air and surface transport besides damaging power transmission towers and causing heavy loss to apple orchards.

Meanwhile, according to the Power Controller Kashmir, 33KV Rawalpora Air-Force power line will be shutdown from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm on 10 November 2018 to carry out pruning.

In the meantime, 33KV Cheshmashahi-Centaur, 33KV Cheshmashahi-TRC power lines will be shutdown from 09.00 am to 5 pm on 11 November 2018 to carry out pruning.

The power supply to the area fed by the 33 KV receiving stations, therefore, shall remain affected on the mentioned date and time, he said.
