Pulwama: A gunfight between militants and government forces erupted in Dar-Ganiegund village tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Sources said that joint government forces launched search operations in the Dar-Ganiegund village of Tral area this Friday morning. “As joint forces of 42RR, 180bn CRPF and SOG intensified searches in the village, the hiding militants fired upon government forces which triggered an encounter,” they added.
A police official confirmed the incident and said, “Following search operation in the Dar-Ganiegund Village, an encounter has ensued.
Meanwhile, internet services were suspended in the Awantipora police district which include areas like Tral, Pampore and Awantipora.
