Srinagar, Nov 07: Two persons have gone missing following heavy snowfall in Vewan village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, police said Wednesday.

A police official said that seven persons had gone to Kuthpathri forest area a week ago, however, they started returning home after weather became hostile.

“Five persons returned home safely while two lost their way due to snowfall and misty conditions,” said the official, adding that their whereabouts are not known since Friday.

The missing duo has been identified as Ghulam Qadir Bhat and Abdul Ahad Sheikh — both residents of Vewan.

The official said that a team of Pethkoot police station is stationed in the village to trace the whereabouts of the missing duo.
