I-League: Churchill Brothers S.C versus Real Kashmir FC ends with goalless draw

Srinagar, Nov 06: Real Kashmir FC settled for one point against Churchill Brothers S.C in the first match of I-League on Tuesday here. .

The atmosphere in the TRC ground was electrifying as thousands of spectators from all over Kashmir thronged to the venue.

RKFC started on high note as Danish’s strike rattled the crossbar in starting minutes of the first half.

In the 12th minute RKFC got free-kick just outside penalty area.  Danish took the charge but failed to capitalize. His shot was blocked by CBSC wall.

CBSC got an opportunity in first half but CBSC striker’s header went over bar by a whisker.

Big blow for CBSC came in last minutes of first half when their goal keeper was shown red card for bringing down RKFC’s Krizo just outside penalty area and thereby losing one player which put them in extra pressure.

Second half was dominated by RKFC. Ten men CBSC started to play defensive. RKFC dominated the possession. Back to back attacks of RKFC could not break deadlock.

RKFC made many moves but were unable to finish. Danis’s back to back shots were saved by goalkeeper each time.

The match ended in a goalless draw. Danish was adjudged hero of the match.

Speaking during the post match press conference Danish thanked the supporters. “It was awesome experience to play around the home crowd. We would try to improve in next matches.”

RKFC’s coach Rabortson said, “We had an advantage to play against ten men team in second half but CBSC showed good play to hold us. 4 points in two is good to start with.”
