Kashmir all set to host I-league on Tuesday

Srinagar, NOV 05: Kashmir will host the first ever I-league football match at synthetic football turf TRC here on Tuesday.

Stakes will be high very high as the host team Real Kashmir FC will lock horn with former champions  Churchill Brothers S.C  on Tuesday afternoon .

The much awaited fixture has created lot of buzz among football lovers throughout India. A football lover from Kolkata wrote on his Facebook wall: “I am very excited to watch the match. It seems I will be watching European football. Snow and football is a beautiful combination.”

“Football lovers in Kashmir will have a lifetime experience to watch the I-league and venue is expected to be full house,” said an organizer.

Speaking to Kashmir Images RKFC coach David Rabortson said, “We will be playing against an experienced and well established team. We are not taking any team easily. It will be a tough match to play.”

“Our players are fit and I expect huge crowd for support at the venue,” he added.

Javid Ahmad, a Real Kashmir FC fan, said, “It is dream come true. We are hosting top tier of Indian football. Real Kashmir will be champions.”

RKFC would like to continue its winning streak which started from I league second division. So far, RKFC has played one match and earned all 3 points, beating Defending champions Minerva Punjab FC.

Churchill Brothers S.C has two points in their kitty so from two matches. They drew both match of the season.

RKFC are considered favorites, keeping in view home conditions, however, for Churchill Brothers it be tough battle to fight. They will like to take away one point.

”Tuesday will be a historic day for Kashmir as it will mark a new era of football in Kashmir,” said a Football coach.

RKFC created history early this year by becoming first team from Kashmir to qualify top tier of Indian football.
