They alleged macadamization of road was started after a long delay and the same could not sustain even for few days, which clearly states the usage of poor quality material in construction of road.

The local residents further alleged that several roads that were macadamized during the past year have also started developing potholes due to usage of “sub-standard material.

Locals also complained that the shabby condition of roads makes it more complex during rainfall when water gets accumulated in potholes.

However officials said that if there are any complaints with regard to newly macadamized roads, department will look into it.

When contacted Executive Engineer R&B Baramulla, Abdul Rashid said that the work of the macadamization is under warranty, department will look into it. “I will look into the matter and will get back to you,” he added.
